Watchdog allows Aeroflot unit to service Boeings, Airbus

MOSCOW, Mar 17 (PRIME) -- The Federal Air Transport Agency has allowed A-Technics, an affiliate of national flagship air carrier Aeroflot, to service the Boeing and Airbus planes, Aeroflot said in a statement on Thursday.

"The technical service and plane repairs provider A-Technics (part of the Aeroflot Group) has successfully passed the audit of the Federal Air Transport Agency to extend the certificate… to provide technical services for the Boeing and Airbus aircraft," the statement read.

The company said that the extended certificate allows the company to carry out both urgent and regular service of the Western aircraft registered in Russia and maintain airworthiness of the entire Aeroflot fleet.
